We are a small, Winchester-based company located in Kings Worthy, proudly trading as Winchester Hardwood Flooring for over 23 years. Many customers also know us simply as Winchester Hardwood.

Our own hardwood flooring brand – Cathedral Flooring – has been manufactured in Ukraine since the very beginning of our business. It reflects the craftsmanship, reliability, and quality that have defined us from day one.

Contemporary – Classic – Rustic – Aged

Wide Planks: The defining feature of early Georgian floors was the use of wide planks, often of varying widths, due to the availability of old-growth trees. Narrower boards became a status symbol later in the era as oak became scarcer, so wide, random-width planks offer the most authentic look for the period.

To achieve a historic, darkened look for our main showroom oak floor, we used a traditional method of ammonia fuming. This process reacts with the wood’s natural tannins to create a deep, rich color. Following this, the planks were tumbled to achieve a distressed, reclaimed appearance. Finally, they were treated with various colored oils for tone and protection. As is typical with this method, the flooring has developed an ongoing patina and continued to change color subtly over time.
